NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
The ACA & Bartow Sheriff’s Department encourages residents and neighborhood groups to address crime and safety issues:

  • Report crime and suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Department and Drug Unit
  • Develop and participate in a Neighborhood watch group in your immediate area of the community
  • Participate in the ACA Neighborhood Watch Support group

■ VISIBILITY AND AVAILABILITY: increase patrol presence; hot spot management; vagrant management; comprehensive patrol route coverage

■ DRUG CONTROL VIGILIANCE: Narcotics Division – reporting, investigation, enforcement

■ SPEED CONTROL: radar certified speed surveys of specific problem areas (Commissioner approved);  Frequent Check-points (sobriety, license, insurance) at specific points; speed bumps at specific points

■ CRIME / THEFT PREVENTION AND INVESTIGATION: theft response & follow-up; case follow-up from call to closure

■ CONTINUE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT; continue neighborhood efforts as the County develops better supportive programs; continue support of focused neighborhood troubleshooting projects

■ PLANNING AND TRACKING; ongoing collaborative efforts among ACA, Sheriff’s Dept. and Zoning for continued review, prioritization, and management of community issues
